Garden to Table
Established in 2008, Garden to Table Trust is a registered charity (CC37743) that works with thousands of primary-school-aged children all across New Zealand, helping them discover a love for fresh food and skills that will last a lifetime. The programme is curriculum-integrated and provides real-world learning opportunities, taking learning outside the classroom.
Garden to Table’s aim is to introduce young children to the wonderful world of good food by developing a productive food garden and an exciting kitchen environment which provides a nurturing place to share food. Garden to Table is also an integral part of the school curriculum, and provides a range of resources to help teachers bring the learning from the kitchen and garden into the classroom. We hope to ignite the curiosity of our tamariki and help them learn how to grow delicious food, how to recognise when it is ripe and at its best, how to prepare it easily and enjoyably, and how sharing food you have grown and prepared together is a lot of fun.
Greenacres School runs the Garden to Table programme for Years 5/6 and we need your help!
